Yes, you read that right. Chocolate milk frosting IS a thing. Not just ‘milk chocolate frosting’. Don’t be fooled. There’s something about this frosting, likely the fact that we have the most amazing AE Reduced Fat Chocolate Milk. I like a lightly chocolate frosting, anything too dark, I just don’t enjoy. This pairs great with a deeply chocolate cake and some raspberry sauce too, which happens to be my favorite cake! I started substituting a portion of cocoa or unsweetened chocolate in my frosting with chocolate milk instead, and the frosting changed. For the better. It gives a bit more roundness of flavor and depth, and softens the harshness of the other chocolate used (like cocoa or unsweetened chocolate) out a bit. Important stuff to learn, for chocolate lovers, you know!
In all seriousness, AE Reduced Fat Chocolate Milk has been a huge part of my life, from celebration brunches to being my main protein staple when I was playing softball at Drake University. I love it. My daughter seems to enjoy a tall glass after her practices and games too, I always oblige, because keeping protein in the diet of little ones isn’t always so easy. Even though she’s little, I still like to think she’s already benefiting from having a post game or practice recovery drink to replenish her little muscles.
My son has the same love but isn’t into sports yet. Here he is after he shook down a friend of ours at a local convenience store… chocolate milk and a donut? Well I’m not so sure who the donut was for. Thanks for the treat, Daren!
Harvest has come and gone, but in these pictures we were picking corn. That process goes very fast. I can hardly get my grain cart full, then unloaded before Dad is full in the combine and I need to race to the back of the field and have him unload his grain onto my cart again and start the cycle over. These days are the most fun, time flies. I drank an Icy Cold To Go (the on the go version of) AE Reduced Fat Chocolate Milk and never ate anything until 2 p.m. It worked great. It is like an instant protein shake or mini-meal on quick moving days.
And it doesn’t hurt that it is totally delicious either.
