My daughter with my Dad, during harvest 2014.
I’ll skip the intro here and put a few pictures up. Family means everything to us. We farm together, raise livestock together and stick together. I’m lucky to have a great group of people around me.
My son is never far from a tractor.
My daughter… never far from pigs. Or grandma.
Me, Mom and Sis at our family Thanksgiving.
My son and I working the day away. He would sit in a tractor for hours. (But it is always a safe bet to have lots of goodies on hand…)
My daughter, son and I getting geared up for a day in the field with my sister.
Did I mention we have a few pigs too? (this is Cookie Dough)
This is my Grandma (Dad’s mother)… she recently turned 90. I learned a lot about baking from her, and my Mom.
Can’t get enough of them… hence, the blog “Food and SWINE”.
We teach them to swim…
My Dad, during harvest.
I have lots of wonderful cousins (where are pictures of us?) and friends who are like family…
This is the pig-guy… I married.
Here’s a picture of my wonderful father in law and daughter at the Iowa State Fair hog show. They were re-painting the numbers on the sides of our Yorkshire boars.
Here’s one of my cousins!
And another cousin!
And my sis again… with my scrumptious little niece!
Love theses pictures. ..love recipes too!
Hi Cristen, saw your site in Des Moines register this morning. Will be following. Curious, is Sandy and Harry your in-laws? Friends from the past. Loretta
