Classic Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp assorted sprinkles

Instructions

  • Cream butter and sugar for 30 seconds until fluffy. Add egg and extracts. Mix well. Add salt, baking powder, cream of tartar and flour. Mix only until combined. Scoop with a normal sized cookie scoop onto a lined or greased sheet pan. Press tops and add sprinkles. Bake at 350F for 12 minutes. Remove from oven to cool.
